Kiefer & LARP (Live Action Roleplay!)
One thing I like to do in my spare time is attending LARP games with my friends!
Winnipeg has a large LARP community with all sorts of settings and communities that range from mostly RP, to mostly bashing each other to death with foam weapons.
Here's Momag, a Gargoyle, wanderer, and scholar of faith, in his winter and classic attire. He's a child of the northern land of Eisboden, and a devout follower of the great boar. Learn more about the setting he calls home, Etherworld LARP, but don't ask him for any boar stories or religious advice unless you have a few hours to spare!
In the summer, Momag's garments are a bit more economical. Not to worry, as he has the protection of the strongest material, surpassing even plate and mail: paper scrolls!
After all, summer is when one is likely to find themselves fighting in the fields and woods!
Thanks to @icaruslovemedley and @larksilverlight of @etherworldlarp for the amazing photography.
Momag is my first LARP character. In a previous world, he was a Yrich, or as the humans like to call them, an orc.
I named Momag after a Skyrim character I played, Nomag, who hated all things magical. Momag is the opposite, using divine magic from a possibly evil deity of all things cold and calculating.
Here's the mighty Momag in his first robe with a new recruit, Jessey:
Unfortunately, Jessey didn't last long. Maybe Lark had something to do with it.
With time, Momag progressed in his adventures, eventually receiving a brown robe from a brother in arms.
Beginning in 2020, I joined my friends at a new LARP run by our wonderful worldmasters at Etherworld!
For a time. Momag was on a long monastic vacation, but he has returned in full force.
In the meantime, I'd kept myself busy at Etherworld selling handmade trinkets (maybe even some magical ones), playing the all-too-common untrustworthy NPC, and bringing all sorts of monsters to life to terrify our players!
Thanks @etherworldlarp for the sick action shot!
Looking forward to many more years of good fun and adventure. From Momag to you, have nice cup of blue Eisboden bruski.
